Downtown Salt Lake City is undergoing a residential building boom. Several construction projects have been approved and many have reservation waiting lists. In total, 1,343 residential units are in some stage of sale or construction.

The Metro Condominium project is 117 luxury residences in the heart of downtown. The developer reports over 200 reservations have been taken.

Marmalade is the northwest gateway to Salt Lake City. The mixed-use project consists of restaurants, retail and 87 residential units. Marmalade includes town homes, penthouse units and condominiums. Several floor plans are available from 848 to 1,970 square feet.

Allen/Millo has already received reservations for its entire 108 unit Metro Park West and 64 unit Lofts on Broadway projects. The Westgate Condominium project includes 49 loft-style units with two to three office spaces.

Land owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will include 600 to 900 residential units. Demolition of existing buildings, including the two major downtown malls, will take at least 18 months so the project is still in its infancy. But the location is as good as it gets in Salt Lake.

According to the last census, Salt Lake City's population is approximately 179,894 with a county-wide population of 924,247. The proximity to Utah's mountains and major metropolitan areas such as Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle makes it a unique and very special place.
